DREAM WORLD

I had a dream.I was on a deserted island.The whole land was covered with ice.Far off I could see white ridges.Snow was flowing headed to a plain far off in the East.

I had emberked on a search for something I wasn't sure what it was.I stood perplexed staring through the void.I had a longing for something I could not comprehend what it was.

I was certain I'd find it but had no idea how, when or where?A desire to find it burnt deep within me.I had a yearning and a longing for it.It was like a treasure.One I once loved,one I treasured whole heartedly.I would find it.I made a promise to myself.

While standing there I saw a rift open up in a far distance.A loud bang followed.Curiosity took the best of me and I walked towards it.I was drawn to it.My boots felt heavy as I walked through the ice.Snow was falling from skies above covering my face.I felt iced.Part of me wished I was in the city where I could grab a cup of coffee.I dismissed this thought when the rift started widening up headed in my direction.

I stopped and watched as it grew closer.It swallowed up the ground.I started walking backwards hastily as it draw nearer.I hit something from behind and my heart leaped.I turned to see what it was.Before me stood a white deer all covered in snow.It's horns were long and sharp.

"Phew,thank God it's just an animal."I said before walking away since the rift was getting wider.It had grown from miles to kilometres apart.

"Fear is a great enemy of any seeker."I had just walked a few steps from it when a voice spoke behind me.I turned to see who was speaking.There was no one but the deer.It's eyes sparkled as it gazed right into my eyes.It was as if it saw right into my soul.

"Maybe am just imagining it.There's no one here."I thought as I turned to walk away.

"Look on the other side of this rift you flee from."It spoke again.

My heart jumped, this time I was sure I wasn't imagining it.I heard a voice speak.I turned slowly and watched in disbelief as it went on talking.

"Sorry I didn't introduce myself.My name is Omega.One among many guardians of truth."It said going round,circling me.

The rift had stopped widening.It was deep and steep.

"Omega."I repeated it's name in disbelief."Wow!a deer that can talk."I was mesmerized by everything that was taking place.

"What you seek is on the other side of this rift."

I looked across and saw a large golden book.It was large in volume.Ten men wouldn't be able to carry it.

"You mean that book?"I asked.

"Yes,go get it."

"How do I get to the other side?"

We had walked closer and were now standing at the rift's edge.My head felt dizzy as I looked down and saw how deep it was.It was dark at the bottom.You couldn't tell what was in it.

"Just jump."

"You are joking.I won't be able to cover a quarter of it.I'll end up falling in."My legs trembled as I pictured myself falling inside in an attempt to cross.

"Close your eyes, deeply inhale,exhale."It paused to demonstrate."Then let go.Take a leap and believe you'll make it to other side."

I found comfort in this words.I had to believe in myself.I took a few steps back and stared at the rift before me for minute.I then inhaled deeply,exhaled before I took off running and jumped off.For any mere mortal this was impossible.It was a suicide attempt.My heart was beating so fast as I stepped into space.There was no ground to step on.My feet felt lighter.Just then strong white wings sprouted out of my back.I was flying.

"I can fly."I was shouted happily as I floated in thin air.

I felt free and liberated.

I flew to the book and stood next to it.Just then the deer teleported to my side.

"It's all yours,open it."

With the deers help I opened it.I was excited to see what was in it.To my surprise all pages were blank.

"There's nothing written in it."I said staring at the blank pages.

There was immense silence.I turned around and saw that Omega had left.I was all alone.The rift closed up.Great silence covered the whole land.

"What am I supposed to do with blank pages?Come back."I shouted hoping it would appear again.

Just then my alarm rang.I stretched out my hand and took it from the table where I had placed it the night before.I turned it off and laid on  my bed comprehending on what I had dreamt about.

What did it really mean?A realization came to me.I smiled as I got off bed and headed for the bathroom.
